We
can arrange tours to all the places of interest from safari to shopping,
ancient cities to beaches. We arrange the tours with drivers and tour
agents who we know and trust ensuring you have the most enjoyable time,
as we ourselves would also want.
Having travelled the country extensively, we can advise of the ‘must
sees and do's’. Sri Lanka has so many highlights, it would
be unfair to single one out, but a few options, for starters, Galle, Kandy, Polonnaruwa,
Sigirya, Dambulla, Anuradhapura and Sinhara Forest Reserve are seven world
heritage sites. The amazing country is bursting with a varied wealth of
culture and heritage.

Ancient Cities Visit the Cultural Triangle. Allow a few days to explore
the ancient capitals and cave temple of Dambulla, see the amazing Buddha
statues and climb the dizzying rock fortress of Sigiriya. Take in the
views over Anuradhapura’s great dagobas (buddhist shrines) from
the holy hill of mihintale.

Hill Country The Hill Country is festooned in tea plantations and cosy
colonial bungalows complete with fire place warm your cockles from the
crisp mountain air. Amazing to think this is only hours away from the
tropical beaches. Meander through the lush green hills taking in the culture
and take the night time, candle lit climb up Adam’s Peak (Sri Pada)
viewing the amazing landscapes as the sun rises. Kandy, the capital of
the Hill Country, surrounded by lush green hills has so much to offer,
history, culture, botanical gardens. A walk around the beautiful lake
and a visit to Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth) are a must. In
and around Kandy Elephants can be seen frequently, from here it is a fairly
easy trip to Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage. The Sleepy village of Ella
is nestled in a valley gazing through the Ella Gap to the coastal plain.
There are wonderful walks around Ella with Spectacular views. There are
a number of amazing villages and towns to visit in the Hill Country.

Beaches All along the coast the country is littered with some of the
most beautiful beaches were lazy palms, droop over the white sand. All
along the south coast are a number of beaches which are great for surfing,
swimming, scuba and just lazing around. Merissa is about two hours away
from Hikkaduwa, here the bright blue sea is so inviting and the dense
green trees surrounding the bay hide the beach from the quiet roads behind.

Wildlife can been seen in daily life, chipmunks bouncing through
the trees, monitor lizards ambling on the roadside, Elephants both working
and roaming freely, monkeys stealing fruit from trees. There are a number
of safaris and national parks spattered throughout the country. Yala West
(Ruhuna) National Park in the South is a protected nature reserve, here
you can see leopards, elephants, monkeys, buffalo, crocodiles and there
are over 130 species of bird that visit the park.

money, there are so many things to fill your trolly. Clothing, Masks, fabrics, teas, spices,
gems and jewellery to name a few. In Colombo boutiques you will find high
street clothes at a pinch, shopping here could easily take your suitcase
over the weight limit!. Hikkaduwa has a great tailor who can recreate
clothing of amazing quality. The devil masks can be bought in most towns,
but Amabalangoda is the famous for the quality of masks. |
